The fort was closed so I could only see it from a distance
The fort is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. You can access the top of the fort where the lighthouse is mounted, but visitors are not allowed inside the lighthouse.
The lighthouse is owned by the National Park Service and is part of Fort Point National Historic Site. Grounds open, tower closed.
Fort Point became a National Historic Site on October 16th, 1970
